Orelie Sodolo

Democratic Republic of Congo

My name is Orelie Sodolo I was born in Zaire in, 1987 but was raised in France and currently live in Silver Spring, Maryland. In this years pageant, I will be representing the Democratic Republic of Congo. I am the first child in my family that was born in Africa and I am also the second child out of four children. I love to sing, dance, act, model, and I am also very energetic. I am well educated and ambitions when it comes to accomplishing my goals. The key word that defines me is "optimistic". I attend Montgomery College in Takoma Park, Maryland with a 3.O GPA. My major is business management.

One day I plan on building my own community in Africa just like they have in here in the USA. I want to build homes, shopping malls, and community centers for young children. I want to be a mentor to young men and women. I want to be able to talk to them and let them know as long as you have a vision and freeze it and you have the confidence to succeed, anything is possible. I believe it is our responsibility to overcome the barriers that prevent us from reaching our dreams. A lot of teens do not have role models or mentors in their life. It is important to have people like parents and mentors to stay positive. “The sky is the limit” - there is almost no limit to how far you can go in what you are doing.
